Our Linear Actuators

We have one of the largest, most diverse selections of linear actuators in the world. It includes high speed, industrial, miniature and mini-tube as well as track models. Each model has unique capabilities to make sure we have a unit for whatever application you may have in mind. Whether that be the our high force industrial model capable of producing up to 3000 lbs or our PA-14P model that comes with a built-in potentiometer, we’ll have a unit for you. We work tirelessly to bring you the highest quality electric linear actuators in the business and are always striving for innovation in our units. Take our micro model for example, the smallest unit we have ever created, made for those jobs where limited space is a huge factor. Every one of our units is quality tested and has been proven successful by our long list of satisfied customers.

We carry the largest in-stock inventory in the industry and it is all available for same-day shipping. All in-stock models are 12V linear actuators and come with an industry leading 18-month warranty. If by chance you need a unit with very specific specifications that do not match our in-stock selection, we have a custom order service that allows you to customize your own unit. Each model has different custom options available including but not limited to custom voltage, force, stroke length, dimensions and feedback control. If you’d like to get started with a custom order today, just get in contact with us regarding the specifications you require and we’ll help you make it a reality.

OUR INDUSTRIES

Our DC actuators are used in a wide array of technological applications and industires ranging from simple home automation mechanisms, marine & automotive automation, industrial automation & equipment, construction machinery, advanced robotics and other various projects and applications as well. An example of what exactly our products can do include upgrading a car with automated windows, door locks and even regulating the engines speed, just to name a few ways they  are used in the automotive industry. Another big industry where you can find our products is the medical industry, automating important medical technology like adjustable scanning tables or helping patients reposition their hospital  bed with a press  of a button.

While our products are popular in large industries like those mentioned above, we also have a very large customer base of hobbyists just looking to create their own mechanisms and applications. Some of the coolest and most interesting projects we’ve seen that use a DC actuator come from these hobbyists. Projects like making a secret bookcase door, a hidden TV that lowers into view from a ceiling and even a fully functional Wall-E robot all came from small time hobbyists who just wanted to make   something cool with our products.

OUR ACCESSORIES

Although our focus here at Progressive is linear actuators, we know that in order to make your project come to life you’ll need more than just that. Which is why we have a selection mounting brackets, control systems, power supplies and accessories to go with them. Each one of our models comes equipped with factory manufactured mounting holes on both ends and have specifically designed mounting brackets to go with them, for the stroke and motor end. These are made only from the strongest and sturdiest materials in order to keep your unit safe and secure when mounted. With our mounting brackets the mounting process is made simple and every set of brackets comes with everything you need for installation. For control of all of our models we have numerous advanced control systems including our line of PLC controls and specialized control boxes. Our control boxes provide a variety of different ways to control our units such as synchronized movement cycles and Wi-Fi control.

Once you have a project built combining a 12V actuator, control system and bracket, you’ll still need something to power that system. That is why we carry a selection of power supplies and adapters with many different voltage and amperage ratings to energize your applications. We also have accessories that you can add to your application. You can find relays, speed controllers, wiring kits and other useful accessories to really take your application to the next level.

OUR RESOURCES

Not only do we have everything you need for your 12 volt actuators, we also have an extensive library of technical data resources so you can learn more about our products and how they work. All our electric actuators have a product PDF which you can find   on their product pages as well as in our technical data section. These PDFs have all the information you could ask for including expanded specifications, custom options, dimensional drawings as well as the models internals. On the product pages you will  also find Product Overview videos from our YouTube channel like the example to your right. We also have 3D models of all of our models that are available to download. In our Technical Data section you can also find wiring diagrams that will show you how to wire our units with various controllers and rocker switches.

If you still have questions about our electric actuators than our highly trained staff of engineers will be here to help. They are available to talk you directly over the phone or through email and will help with whatever questions or concerns you may have regarding our products.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW CAN I DETERMINE WHICH PROGRESSIVE AUTOMATIONS LINEAR ACTUATOR IS BEST SUITED FOR MY APPLICATION?

Depending on your application, there are different specification requirements you should consider when determining the linear actuator you need. These requirements include force, stroke, speed and mounting dimensions. For detailed actuator information, you can refer to either the datasheet or the specification table located on the selected actuator's product page. You can also contact us to speak with one of our expert engineers.

CAN I USE YOUR ACTUATORS TO REPLACE THE ONE THAT I ALREADY HAVE?

Yes, our actuators can be seamless replacements for most applications. Please contact us if you are unsure of which actuator to opt for. You will need to know the voltage rating, force rating, and stroke length needed before we can give a recommendation for a replacement actuator.

CAN I USE MY OWN POWER SUPPLY AS A SOURCE FOR MY ACTUATORS?

Yes. However, it is important to have sufficient voltage and current to be applied to your actuator. Here is an article that may help you further: How to Choose the Right Power Supply for your Linear Actuator

HOW CAN I CONTROL ACTUATORS TO TRAVEL AT THE SAME TIME?

To achieve synchronous motion control, you will require feedback. We offer feedback in the forms of internal limit switches, potentiometers, or hall effect sensors. The following article highlights some Progressive Automations' products that can be used for synchronized control: Controlling Multiple Linear Actuators at the Same Time

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A LINEAR ACTUATOR TO MY SPECIFICATIONS?

Most of our linear actuators are available for customization. Please refer to your desired product’s datasheet to view the full capabilities of its custom options. Please note there will be a lead time of approximately 20 – 25 business days for production, excluding shipping time. There will also be an additional fee for each actuator that is modified. To find out more about custom orders, please contact us at 1800 – 676 – 6123.

ARE LINEAR ACTUATOR KITS AVAILABLE?

Presently, we do not have kits available. However, if you would like a recommendation on the compatibility of certain linear actuators with control systems, please email us at sales@progressiveautomations.com with the following information:

• Required voltage rating

• Required stroke length

• Required force rating

• Dimensional limitations of your application

• Description of your application into which the actuator(s) will be installed

CAN I IMPLEMENT ONE OF YOUR ACTUATORS INTO A THIRD-PARTY MECHANISM?

To do this, please ensure the specifications for your system are compatible with the actuator’s voltage and current ratings. If these specifications align with each other, this may be possible. Please contact us if you are unsure of which actuator to opt for.

CAN I GET 3D CAD MODELS FOR MY LINEAR ACTUATOR?

Please click here for a list of 3D CAD models available.

DOES MY LINEAR ACTUATOR COME WITH MOUNTING BRACKETS?

No, all of our mounting brackets are sold separately to our linear actuators. However, we do produce compatible mounting brackets for each of our linear actuators. To find out which mounting bracket is suitable for your linear actuator, check out your selected actuator's product page (where it will be stated), or browse our mounting bracket catalog.
